Retail - Santa's bag likely to be fat this year

In spite of news that might lead you to dig a hole and climb on in before the riots break out worldwide.... People are actually out at the malls and stores and spending money. Retail trade is brisk with gleaming smiles and enthusiasm amongst consumers. This is very important as 70% of all spending is tied to retail, driving sales and earnings which drives the stock market and general economic conditions. Sales matter. We may need see as much discounting this holiday season but sales are looking brisk, that should fatten the bottom lines... this perception is not widely anticipated, which may give it some value in the weeks ahead. Do not imagine that sales will be universally strong, but likely generally stronger than last year...
